Sales agents who have been made a supervisor by their broker must also take the 6-hour Broker Responsibility course to renew.

1st Time License Renewal: 90 hours of SAE Qualifying Education and 8 hours of Legal Update 1 & 2.
Your computer must have a camera and microphone to record and communicate with the remote proctoring system that is used when you take your end-of-course final exams. Beginning October 1, 2023, the Texas Real Estate Commission (TREC) mandates the inclusion of the 30-hour Real Estate Brokerage course as a compulsory component of your Sales Agent Education (SAE) requirements.

#6 Online Legal Update I & II, First Time Renewal with 8 Hours of CE
For license applicants who have completed 270 hours of Qualifying Education, TREC requires the license holder to complete 8 hours of CE for their first license renewal. Legal Update I is the 1st part of the TREC required CE hours for all license holders who are renewing their licenses on active status. The purpose of the course is to provide information and details on recent updates, changes, regulations, legal definitions, and TREC forms and addenda as they apply to real estate practices in the state of Texas. Legal Update II is the 2nd part of the TREC required CE hours for all license holders who are renewing their licenses on active status. The legal and judicial interpretation of TRELA, Rules of the Texas Real Estate Commission, statutory and case law provides for the effective instruction on the changes in a timely manner.
