Before you are eligible to apply for your Texas Real Estate Salesperson’s License/PSI examination, you must first complete the Texas Real Estate Commission (TREC) required education courses. You may take the courses in any sequence, but we recommend that you begin with Real Estate Principles. All license applicants are required to complete 180 classroom hours in the following TREC specified subject areas:
• 60 hours in Principles of Real Estate
• 30 hours in Law of Agency
• 30 hours in Real Estate Finance
• 30 hours in Law of Contracts
• 30 hours in Promulgated Contracts

Since September 1, 2012, the education for a Real Estate Salesperson is specific “CORE” real estate courses as defined by the Texas Real Estate Commission.
